Jorge Drexler - High & Dry

I’m going to continue the Radiohead theme, but I wanted to mix it up a bit so here’s a cover of ‘High And Dry” off of The Bends. This track is doubly enjoyable for me because it’s one of my favorite Radiohead songs being performed by one of my all-time favorite artists, Jorge Drexler.

An added bonus for me is that because he’s covering Radiohead, Jorge Drexler sings this in English and for the first time I can actually understand what he’s saying. Being a proud native of Uruguay, Mr. Drexler’s songs are exclusively done in Spanish. But, as a testament to his artistry and skill, even someone that doesn’t understand the language (like me) can appreciate the beauty of his music. Now that I think about it, I have no idea how I’ve gone this long without uploading one of his songs.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen this online until now....

I’m surprised I haven’t seen this online until now. There’s a whole series of these pictures made by (I believe) a priest in the Philippines. The last time I was back in the motherland, my mom bought a handful of these pictures as souveniers. My personal favorites from the series are Jesus asking if you want to be his text message buddy, Jesus challenging you to some one-on-one basketball, and Jesus decked out from head to toe in leather asking if you’d like to take a ride in his Harley.

I avoided using the digital zoom all night, but I finally tried it towards the end of the concert. This is the one shot I got that came out semi-decent. At least now you don’t have to squint to see the band. I wish I would have brought my better cameras. Oh well.

The Best of Norm Macdonald.

I just watched a video of Norm on the Saget roast and laughed nonstop throughout his entire set. I forgot how hilarious he is and I spent about an hour of my day looking up his videos on youtube. I’ve watched this compilation about five times now and every time it makes me laugh so hard that I am literally reduced to tears. His bits on Conan in particular had me cracking up to the point I had trouble breathing.
