After three days of storms and rain, we found these three floating in a pool filter, clinging to each other to survive. All of them were exhausted from the effort and were reluctant to part ways after being rescued.

An adorable story, to be sure. But, I’ve heard a slightly different account about the origins of this picture.

This picture was taken after a large storm, but the animals were not exhausted or struggling to survive. What we’re looking at here is Hoppy, Lord of the Frogs (easily identified by his badass spider crown). Before his capture, he was surveying his kingdom upon his trusty turtle. Hoppy was so far from worried and unimpressed by the storm that he and his turtle chauffeur jumped in a pool for a little R&R. When the photographer found them, they were simply in the middle of a nap.

And the reluctance to part ways was because the turtle was his ride! Do you expect the Lord of the Frogs to walk back to his lilly pad throne? I think not, my friends!
